Meet the Members of Wee the Band

Mel Pic

Melody Ferris

Lead & Background Vocals & Shaker

Melody Ferris adds luscious background vocals as well as an improvisational singing style to the adventurously diverse sound of Wee The Band. Born and raised in Seattle, WA, she made the move to the Bay Area to follow her passion for the performing arts. In 2002, Ferris began her studies at Mills College, leading her to perform and study with talented musicians/artists such as Terry Riley, Meredith Monk, Pauline Oliveros, Molly Holm, Larry Dunlap, The San Francisco String Quartet, Dina Emerson, Fred Frith, and Alvin Curran. When she’s not singing with Wee The Band, Melody is off crafting vocal harmonies with jazzy world-groove band Trés Mojo, or composing another song for her latest collaboration, Kite Parade. You can find her voice on the following recent and upcoming albums: Emma (Molly Maguire), Borrowed and Blues (Charlie Docherty), BigVik Presents: Intro (Victory Brent), and One Race (Pope Flynn).

Sean Pic

Sean McAllister

Guitar, Lead & Background Vocal

Sean McAllister has been invloved in a variety of musical pursuits since early in his childhood. Sean formed his first musical group ‘Scratched Vinyl' in Richmond VA. This alt/blues/hip hop/70s revival/vocalicous band was a popular local main stay of the downtown scene. After this adventure, Sean moved to San Francisco and joined the Band 'Strumpet'. The songs from this power-pop rock trio have been featured in the independent film (http://www.smokd.com/). Currently Sean in focusing his energy on songwriting as a guitarist and singer. He now combines his energies with an array of extrasensory musicians in the group called 'Wee the Band'.

Jamie Pic

Jamie Fox (& Mango)

Guitar, Lead & Background Vocal, Harmonica

Jamie hails from the lap of luxury. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth and another up his nose, he was formally trained in dressage, ballet, the violin and harpsichord. At the age of 12, he was irrevocably traumatized after escaping from his valet and wandering into a moose lodge in Republic Washington. Since then Jamie has wandered the corners of the globe in his effort to spiral downward ever further and further into xenophobic provinciality, playing flute for the Catholic Life Singers, bass for punk rock band The Tunnel Rats, an M60 in the Army and slide guitar for the Traditional Ohio Players. Exchanging badminton for bowling, mercedes for ford, gibson for yama, coke for meth, and his crew cut for a mullet, Jamie aspires to some day be able to drink Old English 800 straight from the bottle.

Dan Pic

Dan Fleischer

Drums, Percussion

Thought to have originated in 3,960,159,285 BC as the serendipitous side effect of electrostatic bombardment of a conveniently arranged mixture of methane, ammonia, water and hydrogen, Daniel started his musical career at a young age through synchronous phonon interactions in self-replicating RNA molecules. During the next several billion years of organic evolution, Dan’s musical style largely degenerated into an asynchronous series of thumps, slaps and pings, though he occasionally indulges in muffled screeching accompanied by the sound of a big-screen TV being thrown off the roof of a multistory car-park.

Anthony Pic

Anthony Severo

Bass & Background Vocals

Anthony Severo (also known as SEVERE) originally hails from the DC Metro area, officially transplanting himself to the Bay Area in the fall of 2007.  He picked up the electric bass in 1994 and has since put it down occasionally, mostly to eat or do other activities that require opposable thumbs.  The newest member of Wee the Band, Anthony's history is not-so-long but plenty sordid.  In the early 2000's he did some time in Boston where he attended and eventually graduated from Berklee College of Music, thereby forfeitting worldwide acclaim forever.  Since then he has created and/or participated in: smelly punk rawk, 80s metal cover songs, odd-timed jam sessions, singer/songwriter folk-metal (www.myspace.com/severebass) - his solo project and namesake), and currently plays bass for rock band think13 ((www.think13live.com).  Since joining Wee the Band, he's had to to show up for practice on time and learn the songs instead of "faking it".  It's been an adjustment.
